Kourtney McConville

Tourty started from a longing to re-connect with the child within myself; the explorative + imaginative state of mind mixed with an outstanding sense of wonder that we all experienced so well as kids.

The name “Tourty” comes from a nickname I was given growing up by my sisters. It evokes strong feelings of nostalgia and innocence to me, so it only felt right to name my business this in an effort to draw out that playfulness.

I love to experiment with different mediums, create one-of-a-kind and thoughtful artworks, and am always striving to learn and evolve. My business practice is less that traditional, as you can see my artwork evolve over the years into different styles and practices. I find this necessary to maintain my sense of wonder and keep the creativity alive. I truly believe creativity never has an “end-goal”, and that it is always building upon itself. This continues to keep me excited for what is next!

Though I love to mix things up, 3 main components can anlways be seen inspiring my artwork: color, nature, and nostalgia. Slow-made and handmade continue to also be inspirations that drive my work.
